What is the Badlion chat?
It's a modification that allows you to communicate with other Badlion Client users across the Badlion Client platform from any single-player world, server, or Realms.
It also has separate chat channels for other languages.
How can I find the Badlion chat?
If you want to use the new chat, you simply need to press the Open Chat key and click the chat bubble icon at the bottom right corner of the screen, as shown in the screenshot below.
You can also access it through the main menu of Badlion Client.
How can I use the Badlion chat?
Once you click the chat bubble icon or button on the main menu of Badlion Client, you will see this window:
If you want to send a message, you need to click on the large box at the bottom of the window, type your message and click the send button (one at the bottom right corner of the chat window) or press ENTER on your keyboard.
How can I find other language chat channels?
If you want to use your language chat channel, you need to click the [+] button at the top right corner of the window and click on the language channel, as shown in the screenshot below.
We suggest only using foreign language chat channels if you know & understand those languages; otherwise, use the default English chat channel.
It also allows you to select the "Insider" channel. It only appears if you have purchased or received Insider for free from our new crates system (more information about crates can be found here: https://support.badlion.net/hc/en-us/articles/4414111257618-Crates).
How can I find and change the Badlion chat settings?
The new Badlion chat does not have lots of customization settings at the moment; you can view them by clicking the settings (cogwheel) button near the button to add new chat channels.
Once you click the settings button, you will see two options: chat settings and blocked users.
Chat settings
If you click the "Chat Settings" button, it will open a new window displaying social settings for the chat, friends, and parties. You need to use the settings under "Chat".
1. Notify On New PM - when this setting is enabled, it shows a notification on your screen when someone sends you a private message on the new Badlion chat.
2. Notify On New Public Message - when this setting is enabled, it shows a notification on your screen when someone sends a message on any of the language chat channels.
3. Open BLC Chat - this setting allows you to set a keybind to open Badlion chat without opening the normal Minecraft chat and clicking on the chat bubble icon. If you are running out of keys that have not been bound to any function, you can use multikey keybinds. If you do not know anything about multikey keybinds, check this help article: https://support.badlion.net/hc/en-us/articles/360019164179-Multikey-Keybinds
Blocked users
The settings button allows you to see which users you have blocked. It also allows you to unblock blocked users by right-clicking on the blocked user's name.
Blocking users
If you do not want to see or receive messages from someone you don't like, you can block them on the new Badlion chat by right-clicking on their name and clicking the "Block (insert the user's name here)" button in the chat.
How can I send a private message (PM)?
You can send private messages to your Badlion friends only. Open the Private Messages tab at the top of the Badlion chat window and click the [+] button to add a friend to the private chat.
What rules apply to the Badlion chat?
We want to keep the Badlion chat as friendly as possible; therefore, we are enforcing everyone who uses this modification to follow our rules listed in this article: https://support.badlion.net/hc/en-us/articles/360013929760-Rules
Breaking any rules in the chat will result in an instant mute. The first mute lasts for 24 hours.
