If you encounter this error message when attempting to launch the game, or if you’re unable to switch Minecraft versions with only version 1.8.9 available, something on your end is likely blocking Badlion Client connections, or there may be a network issue.
Resolving Connection Issues
Badlion Client connections could be blocked by anything; here are a few examples:
- Antivirus (software or default OS);
- Firewall
- VPN;
- Download manager programs;
- Parental control programs;
- So-called ping or connection boosters;

To resolve this issue, you would need to add Badlion Client to your antivirus and firewall safelist, turn off any VPN you are using, and uninstall any incompatible software.
